Job Overview: As a Junior Interior Designer, you will play an integral role in assisting with all aspects of the design process. This is an opportunity for a creative and motivated individual to gain valuable experience in the interior design industry while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our community.

Responsibilities:

Design Support: Collaborate to generate innovative design concepts that align with clients' needs and preferences. Assist in producing design presentations, mood boards, and elevations to convey ideas effectively.

Space Planning: Contribute to space planning layouts for various interior spaces, ensuring a seamless balance between functionality and aesthetics.

Material and Finishes Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials, finishes, furnishings, and accessories that complement the overall design vision.

Project Documentation: Participate in the preparation of detailed drawings and specifications, including 2D floor plans, elevations, and 3D models, to facilitate smooth project execution.

Client Interaction: Engage with clients in a professional and courteous manner, actively listening to their preferences and incorporating their feedback into the design process.

Product Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, products, and materials, sharing your findings with the team to enrich our design choices.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials, furnishings, and decor items, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining strong working relationships.

Site Visits: Participate in on-site visits to assess project progress and assist in addressing any design-related challenges.

Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support, including organizing project files and maintaining design libraries.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Interior Design or related field.

  • Excellent computer skills with a hands-on working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit (Chief Architect is not mandatory but an asset).

  • Working knowledge of the BC building code is an asset.

  • Creative, detail-oriented, and strong communication skills.

  • Passion for design and staying updated on industry trends.
